The Globe Sparks Intellectual Fire with Electrifying Debate on Feminism

The Globe’s perspective – Mr. Patriot Shyaka Lumumba

In a fiery clash of ideas and opinions, The Globe, the esteemed university club, held a momentous meeting on June 15th, 2023, leaving an indelible mark on the minds of all attendees. After a series of virtual encounters, the long-awaited in-person gathering filled the air with an electric energy. Amidst the buzz of anticipation, the club members engaged in a captivating debate, adopting the revered Oxford Debating style to explore the ever-polarizing topic: „Feminism – fight for freedom or war with man?”. Under the expert guidance of club supervisors, the esteemed Ms. Małgorzata Wejsis-Gołębiak and Mr. Mieczysław Moneta, the meeting unfolded over an exhilarating span of two and a half hours.

The captivating discourse led to an eruption of compelling arguments from both sides, leaving no doubt that intellectual vigor ran deep within The Globe’s community.

The atmosphere was further heightened by the presence of a distinguished guest of honor, Dr. Justyna Berniak-Woźny.

With resolute determination, the proposing side presented a barrage of persuasive points, asserting the power of feminism as a beacon of hope for societal transformation. The attendees were spellbound as they laid bare the dire necessity of focusing on promoting education for girls, a catalyst for empowerment that has the potential to reshape the world. By emphasizing the profound impact of psychology studies, the debaters skillfully unveiled the detrimental consequences of neglecting boys from a tender age, leading to their gradual deterioration due to a lack of support. In an inspired move, they drew attention to the harrowing reality of domestic violence against men, poignantly highlighting how their voices remain stifled under the weight of societal stigma that discourages vulnerability.

Yet, the opposing side proved to be formidable adversaries, weaving their own tapestry of thought-provoking arguments. Eloquent and persuasive, they accentuated the urgency of granting women more opportunities to flourish. Influential female figures like Oprah Winfrey and Angela Merkel were invoked, serving as vivid reminders of the untapped potential that lies within the feminine sphere. The room brimmed with a sense of awe as these remarkable examples resonated with each listener, leaving an indelible impression on the collective consciousness of The Globe.

As the debate raged on, the intellectual battlefield proved to be a fertile ground for stimulating discussions, challenging preconceived notions, and fostering an environment of open-mindedness. The art of persuasion was embraced wholeheartedly, as passionate individuals gracefully exchanged ideas, valuing intellectual growth above all else.

Intercultural Research Club „The Globe”

Amidst the intellectual sparring, the scent of delectable snacks filled the air, enticing taste buds and providing moments of respite. Laughter and camaraderie mingled, binding the members together in a shared pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment. And when the time came to conclude the riveting debate, a grand finale awaited – an opulent feast of mouth-watering Indian cuisine, rich with aromatic spices that danced upon the palate, symbolizing the diversity and inclusivity that The Globe so ardently championed.

Intercultural Research Club „The Globe”

With hearts and minds fueled by this extraordinary meeting, The Globe looks ahead to a future brimming with opportunities for growth, exploration, and the unwavering pursuit of knowledge. As they bid farewell to this remarkable gathering, each member carried with them a renewed.

Sense of purpose, eager to embrace the challenges that lie ahead and continue their mission to reshape the world through intellectual discourse and meaningful action.

See you next academic year!
